In the summer of 1996, a unique public/private venture was formed between Montclair State University and Floyd Hall Enterprises. From this partnership Floyd Hall Arena was constructed by Floyd Hall Enterprises and in turn donated to Montclair State University, and Floyd Hall Enterprises has operated the arena since it opened in 1998.
Upon completion, Mr. Floyd Hall said “My motivation in building both the arena and Yogi Berra Stadium was to provide first class facilities for the university; but primarily, I wanted to create wholesome activities for the children and their families,” says Floyd Hall. “Everything we do is geared towards low-cost family-oriented entertainment.”
For over 20 years Floyd Hall Arena has done just that by providing Northern New Jersey with a premier facility that has taught thousands of people to skate and play hockey. Floyd Hall Arena opened in March of 1998 and currently houses two NHL size rinks, Parabolic Performance and Rehab, the Extreme Hockey Pro shop, meeting rooms, concession stand, and facilities for awesome birthday parties. Floyd Hall Arena now attracts over 750,000 visits per year and is the home to many groups including the Montclair Hockey Club, The Montclair Inside Edge Figure Skating Club, the Clifton HS Mustangs, the Passaic Valley High School Team, and the Fair Lawn High School Hockey Team. In addition many other high school teams and youth hockey organizations use the arena for practice.
Open 18 hours per day and 362 days per year, Floyd Hall Arena offers public skating sessions as well as a variety of learn to skate and learn to play hockey programs for all ages. From Summer Camp to Birthday parties and leagues, Floyd Hall Arena has many ways to get you on the ice!
